Oral Conscious Sedation Dentistry

We often suggest oral conscious sedation for patients with moderate to severe anxiety. You’ll take a pill before your treatment begins; once it takes effect, you’ll be in a comfortable, highly relaxed state. You will not be unconscious, but you won’t be bothered by the things going on around you. A trusted friend or family member will need to drive you home afterward, so make sure that you’ve made all the necessary arrangements beforehand.

Nitrous Oxide Sedation Dentistry

Nitrous oxide is a fast-acting form of sedation that’s perfect for patients with milder anxieties. You’ll be taken back to a treatment chair and given a small mask to wear over your nose. You’ll breathe in the sedative mixed with oxygen throughout your appointment, letting you stay in a calm, euphoric state during your treatment. Once we remove the mask, you’ll only have to wait a few minutes for the effects to wear off, allowing you to drive yourself home or go back to work.
