Dr. Hamid Ranjbaran

Building patients’ confidence and creating a positive dental experience is what Dr. R promises at every appointment. As a dentist near Bernalillo, he empathizes with his patients, especially since he endured extensive dental work as a child. He even spent four years wearing headgear and undergoing surgery to improve his smile. After finding an orthodontist who could help him, he received life-changing treatment – the kind that eventually led him to pursue dentistry and do the same for others.

After earning his undergraduate degree from the University of New Mexico, he completed his dental degree at Baylor College of Dentistry. He then finished a one-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at the University of New Mexico. There, he received advanced training in sedation and dental implant dentistry and provided treatment to medically complex patients.

Since then, he has completed many hours of continuing education that focus on advanced bone grafting and full-mouth reconstruction. He is also Invisalign certified.

Dr. R is currently a member of the American Dental Association, the New Mexico Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry.

When he’s not busy changing lives inside his dentist’s office, he and his wife spend their time outdoors biking long distances. They also enjoy hiking and camping, and he is often found engaging in one of his favorite hobbies, photography.

I Need a Checkup & Cleaning

Dental checkups and cleanings are pivotal components of preventive care. This is why we emphasize biannual appointments, allowing our team to check for problem areas in their earliest stages. By getting ahead of cavities, gum disease, and infection, we can reduce your risk of needing more extensive restorative care in the years ahead. We will also remove accumulated plaque and tartar from your teeth and gumline, leaving you with a healthier, more radiant smile between appointments.

I Am Interested in Dental Implants

Replacing missing teeth with dental implants doesn’t require a referral to an outside specialist. Instead, you can remain in the same location, with the same great team. Dr. Ranjbaran is equipped to complete the entire process in-house, ensuring your comfort and confidence from beginning to end. Whether it’s one tooth or an entire arch that requires prosthetics, we can deliver a stronger, healthier, and longer-lasting set of teeth.

I Want to Enhance My Smile with Veneers

Concealing imperfections, such as chips, stains, cracks, small gaps, and minor misalignment, is easy with custom-made veneers. At Southwest Dental, we will personalize a plan that incorporates the size, shape, and color you want to see in your new smile. With the help of skilled technicians, our team will hide your flaws with these customized restorations, revealing an eye-catching smile that is certain to make a lasting impression.

I Am Experiencing a Dental Emergency

When faced with a dental emergency, you want a dentist who is friendly, welcoming, and quick to act. This is why Dr. Ranjbaran offers same-day and weekend appointments for those in need. Whether it’s a knocked-out tooth, broken denture, lost dental filling or crown, or a severe toothache that requires timely treatment, he can alleviate the pain and build a plan to restore your smile. Instead of struggling with unnecessary discomfort, call our office and let us know about your dental injury right away.

I’m Eager to Straighten My Smile with Invisalign

Traditional braces are not the only way to straighten misaligned teeth. Nowadays, a clearer, more discreet solution is available – Invisalign! Offering subtlety and flexibility, these aligners are easy and comfortable to wear, allowing your teeth to shift without the pain of wire tightening along the way. Instead, our team will evaluate your progress throughout treatment, ensuring everything is moving in the right direction.

I Am Concerned About Bleeding Gums

Do your gums bleed when brushing your teeth? Do they feel swollen or appear red? If so, you may have gingivitis, which is the earliest stage of gum disease. Fortunately, gum disease treatment is an effective way to remove harmful bacteria attacking your teeth, gums, and bone. With scaling and root planing, we can target diseased areas and make it easier for tissues to reattach as they heal. This reduces the risk of future infection and keeps your smile healthier in the long run.
